Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor, comedian and musician.Her parents separated at the age of 18 months. old and she and her older brother, actor Oliver Hudson, were raised in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California by her mother and her long-time lover actor Kurt Russell.Hudson's origins are Italian (from her paternal grandmother), Hungarian Jewish (from her maternal grandmother),and the remainder a mix of English as well as some German.She was born Jewish as was her mother she is also a practitioner of Buddhism.Hudson has said that her biological father "doesn't know me through a hole in the wall" and that she considers Russell as her father.Hudson has claimed that her mother was "the person who I've learned the most from, and whom I look up to and who has led her life in a manner that I can admire".
